Do Animals Talk?
Cats meow. Dogs bark. Cows moo. Birds chirp. Yes, animals talk. They all have extensive ways of communicating both verbally and physically to their own kind. Mankind has spent generations trying to decipher the languages animals speak. The American Kennel Club says dogs make a multitude of sounds. They howl, whine, bark, or even sing. Individual tones, length, and body language that accompanies barking alone will communicate different things. For example, if your dog is barking loudly at something with the hackles of their fur raised, they are communicating fear or protectiveness. If their tail is wagging and they are bouncing up and down while they bark, they are communicating joy. Animals understand what we are saying to them too. Cats alone are said to understand up to 50 words. Things like ‘Get down ", and "No ", and "Treat Time” or their names are especially understood by pets. In her time, Koko the gorilla was able to communicate with people using up to 1,100 different signs in sign language. Parrots, parakeets, and crows have developed the ability to copy human speech and repeat it back. Whether these birds understand what they are saying is up for debate, but they understand they are copying speech so they can talk to people. Think of the last time your pest reacted to the sound of their favorite person’s voice when they came home from work. Pets understand us more than we give them credit for. There is a life force in everything. Read about that here: Animism: Is Everything Alive?
So why don’t some people believe animals communicate with us? Because animals communicate with a different language than we use. A gerbil can’t say “Hello, it’s good to see you today. Pet me!” But their body language can. A cat can’t tell you it’s sick with words, but when its tail is lowered, it is sleeping extra, and it refuses to eat, you know it’s time for a trip to the Vet. Animals, besides the types of birds that can mimic human speech don’t talk like we do, but they do talk. You just have to pay attention and listen. How Can Animals Speak to People?
Animals speak to us in two ways. They speak physically, and they send us psychic messages. Multiple psychic messages are sent to us by our pets by moving energy. Physically, they make sounds and they use non-verbal cues.
Psychic Communication
How can an animal send psychic messages? The same way people do. They send energy. They may gaze deeply into your eyes and telepathically tell you they don’t want you to leave for work. They would much rather you stay home and cuddle with them. They may send psychic energy to let you know to come find them because they are lost. They may send psychic messages when you are away from home and a loud thunderstorm hits because they are afraid and want you to protect and comfort them. They can also send you their love when they are thinking about you. Just like people. Read about developing your psychic gifts here: Developing Your Psychic Powers
Verbal Communication
Animals make verbal sounds. Rodents squeak, cats meow, dogs bark, and even reptiles make sounds. Animals use tones of voice just like people do. An annoyed cat may give a low guttural warning growl to let you know they do not want to be petted while they are grooming. A dog will whine when it is afraid. A bird will squawk aggressively when it is annoyed. Bunnies actually scream when they are terrified. If you really pay attention, you will be able to hear emotions, thoughts, opinions, and desires vocalized by animals all the time. All you have to do is adapt your awareness to learn what animals' sounds mean. Find out about the power of adaptability here: Mastering the Fine Art of Being Flexible
Non-Verbal Physical Communication
Animals don’t just use words to express themselves. They use body language. One adorable bulldog became famous on the internet because it furiously stomped its feet when it was told it had eaten enough treats. It stomped to demand more! Your dog may literally turn its nose up at you when you offer food it does not like. Cats will rub their heads against you to signal that you belong to them and they want some affection. Birds will sit on your shoulder to nap, indicating you are their “safe place” and a member of their family. Animals will also hide when afraid, sleep near the people and other animals they feel safest with, and look you right in the eye to signal that they are paying attention to you. Are Animals as Sensitive as Us?
One of the biggest mistakes that human beings make is to assume that animals are not as sensitive as we are. They are just as sensitive as we are and depending on personality they may be more sensitive than us. They experience all the same feelings and sensations that we do. They experience love, happiness, joy, exhaustion, excitement, disappointment, and even love. They experience the same things that we do. They fall in love and start families. They grieve when some creature who they love dies. They have arguments and falling outs. They live, thrive, suffer illness, get sick, and die. Sound familiar? Human beings go through all of those things too. One animal is even your spirit animal. Read here to find your spirit animal: Which Animal is My Spirit Animal?
One of the biggest reasons that some people think animals cannot communicate with us is that they believe animals lack intelligence. There is absolutely no proof that animals lack intelligence. It shows a deep lack of understanding to assume that a creature who speaks a different language than you is not as sensitive or as intelligent as you. Sometimes we tell ourselves that because an animal can't build a skyscraper or drive a car that it's not intelligent. We think that wild animals are less evolved than people, especially if they walk on all fours instead of their hind legs. Animals don't clothe themselves the way humans do or live in buildings unless we put them in buildings, but they are just as intelligent as we are. They are perfectly evolved to live the lives that they do in nature. Read about our deep connection with nature here: Interconnection- How we Connect to Nature
How to Talk to Animals
Talking to animals isn't some rare gift that few people possess. Although some people can naturally do it, it's a skill that anyone can develop. First you have to believe that it's possible or your mind will be closed to it. Then you have to open your psychic awareness. Next you have to listen in silence and wait for cues from the animal. This can be done by spending time with the animal. If you're still having a hard time understanding what an animal is communicating, ask for help from someone else.
Believe
The power of belief cannot be stressed enough. If you believe that animals cannot communicate with human beings, you are going to completely close your mind to listening when they do. Just because animals don't speak human language doesn't mean that they don't speak. You have to believe that every sound or gesture that an animal makes communicates something, just like it does in humans. Next you have to believe that you can learn what these animals are communicating. If you could learn human communication, you can learn communication with animals. Just believe. One thing some people don’t believe in is curses, but are they real? Find out here: What Are Curses - Are They Real?
Open Your Psychic Awareness
Some people can naturally understand the verbal and nonverbal cues that animals give to communicate, but opening your psychic awareness helps. The way to do this is with a simple meditation before you begin trying to understand what animals are telling you. Sit comfortably and visualize how well your mind has adapted to understand human speech and communication. Then visualize right next to that an empty box. What will be held in that box is all the knowledge you gain about animal communication. Visualize yourself putting one bit of knowledge at a time and to the box explaining different animal communications. Then look at yourself in the mirror and say “ So my psychic awareness is open, let the learning begin.” Are psychics legit? Find out here: Are Psychics Real?
Listen in Silence
The next step is very important. You have to listen with an unbiased mind and be completely silent. You can't ask questions while you're learning how a particular animal communicates, because you will be establishing a psychic connection as well as mundane awareness. The more you listen and pay attention to a particular animal, the more you understand them. You also have to be patient with how long it's going to take to understand. If you're lucky, you will very quickly understand what a particular animal is communicating or even the way that a particular species typically communicates. Sometimes, you won't be so lucky though. It will take more time. Take all the time you need. It is more than worth it. Listening to animals is easier if you are a highly sensitive individual. Find out if you are here: Are You One of the Highly Sensitive People?
Spend Time with The Animal
Some people think that communication with the new pet will be perfect overnight. Give your animal six weeks or longer to get used to your home before they start to open up to you emotionally. Especially if the animal was abused or rescued, or has been stranded in an animal shelter for a long time, they won't necessarily feel safe immediately. Stay in the same room with them, let them sleep in your bed if you can, and just trust the process. You will naturally learn to understand your animal's feelings, thoughts, and what they're trying to communicate over time. One animal you may want to communicate with is the crow. Learn about them here: What Does a Crow Symbolize?
Consult the Experts
To be fair, some people are just better at communicating with animals than other people are. If you're struggling, reach out for help. Find someone who has experience with either the type of animal that you're trying to communicate with or the particular animal that you're trying to communicate with, and ask them to tell you everything they know. If it's a new pet, can you speak with a person who owns the pet before you did? If you can't, maybe your veterinarian will have some insight. You might even want to ask your spirit guide about animal communication. Read about spirit guides here: Working with Your Spirit Guide
Am I an Animal Psychic?
It doesn't take an animal psychic to communicate with animals. Anyone who will pay attention to what animals are saying can do it. However, you just might be an animal psychic. There are a few ways to tell if you are. If you can understand what every animal you meet is communicating the first time you meet it, you're probably an animal psychic. If you feel more comfortable with animals than human beings, you're not an animal trapped in a human body. You're a human being who has the psychic ability to connect with animals. Do animals automatically feel comfortable in your presence, especially animals who have suffered at the hands of other human beings? You are probably an animal psychic.
Animal psychics are sincere and considerate of the feelings of all animals in nature. They refuse to use pesticides because they are acutely aware of how they poison innocent animals. Some people have a psychic connection to just one kind of animal, and sometimes that's their spirit animal. Other people believe that a powerful psychic connection to a certain type of animal indicates that type of animal is what they were in a past life before they reincarnated to being human. They may even use divination to communicate with animals. Learn all about divination here: The Everything Guide to Beginning Divinations
You've probably been communicating with animals all your life, and you just don't know it yet. Animals communicate with sounds that they make, their psychic abilities, and with nonverbal communication. To communicate with animals you first have to believe that you can and then stop, listen, sit with the animal, and keep your psychic awareness open. Don't worry about the animal understanding what you have to say. Once you are open to what the animal has to say to you, your psychic connection with them will tell you how to talk back.
